Sub Flooring Under Bamboo

Remove a few boards to let the others expand and dry the subfloor. Underlay for thermal resistance. Place the grooved side of bamboo planks against the spacers. Bamboo flooring and an underlayment vapor barrier can be installed on any existing floor including concrete wood flooring vinyl tile linoleum tile etc as long as the floor is flat and solid.

Underlays are typically used for either sound insulation or thermal resistance. This will also help the subfloor to dry faster. If there is access to the flooring from a lower level be sure to place fans there as well pointing to the damaged areas. This layer of osb or plywood is part of the home s construction and will already be in place when the underlayment and floor covering is installed. When wood floorboards get wet they swell. Using underlayment under your bamboo floor can provide soundproofing moisture protection and stability and reduce wood on wood squeaking. The fans must also be set at high levels and left on until the subfloor is completely dry.

While laying out the underlayment it can cover the small imperfections your floor has and makes your floor look nice and even. There is also a special type of underlay which is compatible with underfloor heating. Place as many fans as possible in the room so that the air is circulated in the entire space. Not only that but it is a recycled fiber that allows no vocs.
